D365 Business Central Technical Consultant

We are seeking a hands-on Dynamics 365 Business Central Technical Consultant / Developer with extensive experience in Business Central development, APIs, and third-party integrations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Finance, Product, and Development teams to configure and customize Business Central, ensuring seamless and reliable integrations between Business Central, our internal platform, and various external systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and customize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central using AL and Visual Studio Code.
- Build table and page extensions, custom codeunits, and event-based extensions while maintaining an upgrade-ready environment.
- Design and develop custom Business Central APIs to enable bi-directional data exchange.
- Integrate Business Central with internal platforms and external systems using REST APIs, OData v4, and webhooks.
- Configure OAuth 2.0 / Service-to-Service authentication, manage Microsoft Entra ID app registrations, and ensure secure credential handling.
- Design reliable integration architectures, incorporating asynchronous processing where appropriate.
- Implement robust error handling, retry mechanisms, monitoring, and reconciliation controls for all integrations.
- Support integration efforts with accounting, payment, banking, and other third-party platforms as required.
- Utilize Azure Application Insights or equivalent tools to monitor API performance, detect failures, and troubleshoot integration issues.
- Collaborate with Finance and Development teams to translate accounting and operational requirements into effective Business Central solutions.
- Assist with testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment, documentation, and production troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications

- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV.
- Advanced proficiency in AL development.
- Proven experience developing Business Central API extensions and custom API pages.
- Practical knowledge of REST APIs, OData v4, and webhooks.
- Solid understanding of OAuth 2.0 Service-to-Service authentication and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience integrating Business Central with external ERP/CRM, payment, e-commerce, POS, WMS, or other transaction-based systems.
- Skilled in designing robust integration patterns with effective error handling and monitoring.
- Good understanding of Business Central’s finance and accounting modules, including underlying transaction flows.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate directly with Finance, Product, and Development teams.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience with Azure Logic Apps and Azure Service Bus is a strong advantage.
- Background in handling high-volume transaction integrations.
- Experience integrating payment gateways, banking platforms, or fintech systems.
- Knowledge of Saudi localization requirements and ZATCA compliance.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications such as MB-800 or AZ-204 are highly desirable.

This role requires a technically strong individual who is comfortable owning the integration layer, particularly focusing on APIs, authentication, data flows, monitoring, and troubleshooting. It is not solely a functional Business Central position but demands deep technical expertise to ensure seamless and secure integration solutions.
