As a Data Analyst on the Industry Fundamentals team at S&P Global, you will be responsible for extracting, analyzing, and standardizing financial information from company-released documents. Your primary focus will be on aggregating key financial data from S&P Global covered companies and transforming it into a structured product that is delivered to clients. This role demands strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of financial statements and reporting standards to ensure accuracy and consistency in the data provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process and apply financial data for the Fundamentals team, leveraging both technical skills and financial knowledge.
- Collect, standardize, and validate corporate financial data from annual, semi-annual, or quarterly reports published by companies.
- Consistently meet individual and team targets while maintaining high standards of quality and excellence.
- Operate under supervision within established guidelines to ensure quality and performance benchmarks are achieved.
- Stay informed about content sets, industry trends, and reporting standards to enhance domain expertise.
- Contribute innovative ideas for new data collection methods and product improvements related to covered content sets.
- Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide support to team members as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance, MBA in Finance, ACCA Affiliate status (with no more than two papers remaining), or a relevant degree in accounting or finance.
- Fresh graduates or candidates with up to six months of relevant professional experience are encouraged to apply.
- Flexibility to work any shift based on business requirements.
