The Data Analyst role, based in Lahore, Pakistan, is part of the Careem NextGen Team, which focuses on training new analysts and establishing a foundation of analytical excellence. This position offers exposure to advanced projects and technologies, utilizing modern analysis and visualization tools to tackle regional challenges. The Analytics team is committed to delivering a holistic view of Careem’s business and customer experience by providing actionable insights, defining problems, and contributing to their resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze both structured and unstructured data from diverse internal and external sources.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators and overall business health.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and operations, to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Support experimentation efforts such as A/B testing to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Write efficient SQL queries and use analytical tools to extract, transform, and analyze data.
- Utilize AI and automation tools to streamline repetitive analytical tasks, optimize workflows, and enhance productivity.
- Explore opportunities to integrate AI-assisted insights, such as anomaly detection, trend forecasting, and text summarization, into dashboards and reports.
- Document data definitions, methodologies, and analytical processes to ensure clarity and reproducibility.
- Maintain data quality, integrity, and accuracy within reporting systems.
- Present findings effectively through visualizations and storytelling to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in a Data Analyst or similar analytical role.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one analytical programming language such as Python or R.
- Experience with analytical libraries including pandas, NumPy, and SciPy.
- Hands-on experience with BI and visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Metabase.
- Understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and database concepts.
- Basic knowledge of statistics and hypothesis testing.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Copilot, and the ability to apply them to automate analyses and enhance decision-making.
- Strong curiosity to experiment with emerging AI capabilities for workflow optimization and insight generation.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining insights clearly.
- Analytical curiosity with a focus on driving measurable impact.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
