Data Architect - GCP

Systems Limited is seeking an experienced Data Architect with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to lead the design and implementation of scalable, modern data platforms. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in defining enterprise data architecture and driving cloud transformation initiatives. This position involves building secure, high-performance data ecosystems on GCP while working closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and business stakeholders to foster data-driven decision-making across the organization. The role is based in Karachi, Islamabad, or Lahore.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement enterprise-grade data architectures on Google Cloud Platform.
- Develop scalable Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Lakehouse architectures to meet business and analytical needs.
- Lead cloud data migration projects, transitioning data from on-premises and legacy systems to GCP.
- Define enterprise data models, integration frameworks, and data governance standards.
- Architect and optimize both batch and real-time data processing pipelines.
- Establish best practices for data quality, lineage, metadata management, security, and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Ensure platform scalability, reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Lead architecture reviews, technical discussions, and solution design workshops.
- Mentor engineering teams on cloud architecture, data engineering, and GCP best practices.
- Drive the adoption of modern analytics, AI/ML, and data-driven decision-making capabilities.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Cloud Data Solutions.
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying large-scale data platforms on Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and cloud-native design patterns.
- Experience working with large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Proven ability to engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders at all organizational levels.
