Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to establish and enhance the data infrastructure supporting Infotech’s AI and analytics initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for designing data warehouses and semantic layers, as well as improving and stabilizing existing databases. Your work will ensure that downstream AI and reporting products have access to reliable, high-quality data across both on-premises and Azure cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop data warehouses that consolidate information from various software products within the organization.
- Create semantic layers that provide a consistent and business-friendly view of data, facilitating analytics and AI applications.
- Audit, clean, and resolve issues in production databases, addressing problems such as inconsistent schemas, duplicate or missing data, and broken relationships.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines across on-premises databases and Azure cloud services to ensure smooth data flow.
- Collaborate closely with the AI/ML team to structure and make data readily available for AI-powered product features.
- Monitor data quality continuously and implement checks to detect and prevent issues before they impact production systems.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-centric engineering role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling, including data warehouse and semantic layer design.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Comfortable working with both on-premises databases and Azure cloud data services.
- Skilled in diagnosing and resolving data quality issues in live production environments.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate closely with AI/ML and product engineering teams.
- Experience with programming languages commonly used for pipeline development, such as Python.
- Familiarity with data processing frameworks suitable for large-scale or batch workloads.
- Basic understanding of real-time or streaming data pipelines.
- Awareness of data governance and access control best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with financial data or data from regulated industries.
- Previous experience supporting analytics or AI/ML teams by providing clean, well-modeled data.
