Data Engineer

We are looking for a talented Data Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our team in Lahore, Pakistan. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in building scalable data pipelines and developing data transformation workflows, primarily using cloud-based data platforms. This role demands hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, ETL/ELT processes, and dbt, along with familiarity with modern data engineering tools. Experience with technologies such as Apache Spark, Airflow, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Hadoop will be highly valued. This is a full-time, onsite position offering a competitive salary.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines that support evolving business needs. Build and optimize data transformation workflows using dbt to ensure efficient and reliable data processing. Develop robust data solutions leveraging Python and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and loading tasks. Deploy and manage data infrastructure on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Design and maintain data warehouses, data models, and overall data architecture to facilitate analytics and reporting. Manage workflow orchestration with Apache Airflow to schedule and monitor data pipelines effectively. Utilize cloud data platforms like Snowflake and BigQuery for data storage and querying purposes. Process and transform large datasets using Apache Spark to handle big data workloads efficiently. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines to maintain high performance and reliability. Implement data quality checks, validation procedures, and governance practices to uphold data integrity. Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, Software Engineers, and other stakeholders to fulfill data requirements. Review and optimize existing dbt models, SQL queries, and data pipelines to improve efficiency. Contribute to data architecture design and participate in technical decision-making to enhance data engineering practices. Mentor junior team members and promote best practices within the data engineering team.

Required Qualifications
3 to 5 years of professional experience in Data Engineering or a related field. Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and pipeline development. Hands-on experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines. Expertise in dbt for data transformation and workflow management. Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data architecture principles. Experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration. Familiarity with Snowflake and/or BigQuery cloud data platforms. Good knowledge of Apache Spark for large-scale data processing. Preferred knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem components. Strong skills in optimizing data pipelines for performance and scalability. Experience with version control systems like Git and adherence to modern data engineering practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
