The Data Officer will be responsible for overseeing routine data processes, ensuring data quality, facilitates in effective exchange of information and supporting the organization's data needs through various reporting and analysis tasks. This role involves developing data tools, training staff, and contributing to documentation and content dissemination.

Education:

University graduate or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or a related field.

Work experience:

Minimum 34 years of relevant experience in data management, MIS, MEAL, health, nutrition or development programmes.

Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Strong data management, cleaning, analysis and reporting skills.
Proficient in database management tools (MySQL, MS Access or equivalent).
Experience with data collection and visualization tools (Google Forms, Google Sheets, Power BI, Looker Studio).
Familiarity with HMIS/MIS/NIS and program information systems.

Responsibilities

Manage routine BNP program data received from districts and Facilitation Centers, including data collection compilation, cleaning, validation and analysis.
Conduct regular data quality checks to identify missing, inconsistent, duplicate or inaccurate records and coordinate with relevant staff for timely correction.
Monitor data completeness and timeliness against program requirements, targets and reporting schedules, and flag significant gaps to the Project Management Team.
Maintain and update databases, data collection/aggregation tools, trackers and reporting templates used for BNP implementation and monitoring.
Consolidate district- and Facilitation Centre-level data and prepare routine daily, weekly and monthly data summaries and reports as required.
Perform descriptive data analysis and develop/update pivot tables, charts, dashboards and other data visualization products for routine monitoring and ad-hoc requests.
Support monitoring of key BNP indicators, including beneficiary enrolment, follow-up/continuation, service utilization, nutrition support/SNF distribution and other program indicators as applicable.
Support data reconciliation across relevant BNP/MIS platforms and project records, including identification and follow-up of discrepancies.
Prepare accurate quantitative reports, data summaries, presentations and other information products for internal management, donors and program stakeholders.
Provide technical support and orientation to project staff on data collection tools, reporting procedures, data quality requirements and relevant MIS/data systems.
Maintain proper documentation of datasets, reporting tools, data definitions, reporting timelines and data quality issues, ensuring confidentiality and appropriate handling of beneficiary information.
Facilitate timely exchange of program data and information among the provincial, district and Facilitation Centre teams and other relevant departments/stakeholders.
Collaborate with MEAL, program, nutrition, finance and operations teams to ensure consistency between program implementation data and reported results.

Perform any other data management, reporting or analytical duties assigned by the supervisor.
