Data QA Engineer - Remote

Key Responsibilities
- Translate customer scraping and data requirements into clear, actionable test strategies, owning the QA process from project inception.
- Employ a mix of exploratory manual, visual, and automated testing where automation adds value.
- Execute test cycles on extracted data and communicate results clearly and effectively.
- Document defects with sufficient detail to enable developers to reproduce and resolve issues independently.
- Utilize descriptive statistics, summaries, and visualizations to assess data quality, including completeness, accuracy, consistency, and drift.
- Generate comprehensive test reports and quality scores that provide transparent insights to both internal teams and customers.
- Clearly articulate what has been tested, what remains untested, and the associated risks.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify ambiguous or untestable requirements before QA begins.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of our test automation framework, focusing on coverage and efficiency.
- Propose and lead improvements in QA processes and tooling, including browser and spreadsheet add-ons, as well as UI-based automation tools.
- Work independently alongside QA leadership, project managers, and developers to ensure high-quality delivery.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in QA engineering or a related role, focusing on software or data testing.
- Proficiency in Python, especially using Pandas and Jupyter for data analysis and validation.
- Competence with SQL, including basic to intermediate query writing and familiarity with relational databases and associated tools.
- Strong understanding of web technologies and protocols such as HTML, XPath, JSON, HTTP, and CSS.
- Experience designing and executing tests against HTTP/REST APIs.
- Detail-oriented and proactive with a strong sense of ownership over project quality.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex domain requirements and adapt to new technologies.
- Experience leveraging AI and large language models (LLMs) to optimize test case generation and accelerate data validation.
- Skilled in test case design and test data management.
- Experience working in agile environments (Scrum or Kanban) alongside development teams.
- Knowledge of data quality concepts including completeness, accuracy, consistency, and drift.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Confidence to maintain quality standards under delivery pressure.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
