About the Role

We are urgently seeking experienced Database & Reporting Specialist. The selected candidates will design, manage, and optimize the project’s PostgreSQL databases and reporting layer, ensuring accurate, secure, and high-performing data operations throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL database structures, schemas, and relationships to support the Fuel Pass system.

  • Build and deliver custom reports and dashboards for operational, management, and audit needs.

  • Develop and manage ETL processes and data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources.

  • Ensure data quality through validation, cleansing, and consistency checks.

  • Perform data reconciliation between systems and transaction records to identify and resolve discrepancies.

  • Optimize queries, indexes, and database performance for speed and scalability.

  • Automate recurring data tasks, reports, and maintenance activities.

  • Implement and manage role-based access control and data security measures.

  • Set up and maintain audit trails and logging for traceability and compliance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production database issues promptly with minimal downtime.

  • Document database designs, data flows, reports, and procedures.

  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven hands-on experience with

    PostgreSQL in production environments.

  • Strong knowledge of database design and data modeling.

  • Experience in custom reporting and report development.

  • Practical experience with

    ETL and data ingestion processes.

  • Strong understanding of data quality and reconciliation practices.

  • Expertise in query optimization and performance tuning.

  • Experience with automation

    (scripting, scheduled jobs, workflow automation).

  • Knowledge of access control and audit trail implementation.

  • Proven ability in production troubleshooting under tight timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Metabase, Superset, or similar).

  • Scripting skills (Python, Bash, or SQL procedural languages such as PL/pgSQL).

  • Experience with backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies.

  • Prior experience on short-term, fast-paced project assignments.
