Database Administrator

We are currently looking for a skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Lahore. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, including experience with Oracle GoldenGate, database replication, deployment, and cluster application architecture. This role demands excellent problem-solving abilities, the capacity to manage multi-terabyte datasets, and a proactive approach to database administration and project management throughout the entire lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Oracle, Oracle GoldenGate, and PostgreSQL databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and scalability.
- Configure and oversee database deployment, clustering, replication, and load-balancing technologies to improve system efficiency.
- Develop and optimize complex queries and stored procedures for effective data handling.
- Handle large-scale datasets, ensuring data integrity and security at all times.
- Implement and maintain robust database security, backup, and recovery strategies aligned with industry best practices.
- Diagnose and resolve complex database issues using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Lead the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, while maintaining technical excellence.
- Provide daily production support and manage customer interactions to minimize downtime and promptly address issues.
- Prepare detailed functional and technical specification documents to meet project requirements.
- Manage and track ticket queues, ensuring compliance with SLAs, KPIs, and OLAs.
- Ensure adherence to software quality processes and project timelines, delivering high-quality results within deadlines.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the team and project stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and issue resolution.
- Manage and optimize large data pipelines within a production support environment.

Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Oracle, Oracle GoldenGate, PostgreSQL, database replication, deployment, and cluster application architecture.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in software development and database administration.
- Experience with database clustering and load-balancing technologies is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of configuring active-active database configurations.
- Strong understanding of database security, backup, and recovery best practices.
- Proven ability to manage multi-terabyte datasets in a production environment.
- Expertise in writing and optimizing queries and stored procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Experience in managing ticket queues and ensuring compliance with SLAs, KPIs, and OLAs.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive functional and technical specification documents.
