Database Developer

Microlinks Pvt. Ltd., a leading technology solutions provider for Pakistan’s capital market participants since 1990, is seeking a full-time, on-site Database Developer based in Karachi Division. The company is renowned for delivering end-to-end systems that support brokers, clearing members, and financial institutions, and is recognized as an Eligible Broker Back-Office System Vendor of the Pakistan Stock Exchange. Microlinks offers a comprehensive suite of products covering the entire trade lifecycle, including digital onboarding, trading platforms, SEAMS ERP for back-office operations, and real-time integrations and payments. The company plays a pivotal role in powering Pakistan’s capital markets technology ecosystem, driving innovation while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks such as PSX, SECP, CDC, and NCCPL.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize database structures and queries to support various workflows including trading, onboarding, ERP, and integrations within the capital markets technology ecosystem. Build and maintain stored procedures, functions, and views to ensure efficient data processing. Implement ETL processes for data migration, integration, and cleansing to maintain data accuracy and consistency. Collaborate closely with application developers, business analysts, and operations teams to translate business requirements into scalable and robust database solutions. Assist with performance tuning, troubleshooting, and documentation to enhance system reliability and efficiency. Support database deployment processes and contribute to establishing best practices. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and security standards to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.

Required Qualifications
Strong expertise in database development and design, including schema modeling, query optimization, and stored procedure creation. Experience in database administration tasks such as backup and recovery, performance tuning, monitoring, and security management. Hands-on experience with ETL tools and processes for data integration, migration, and cleansing. Well-developed analytical skills to troubleshoot complex data and performance issues, interpret requirements accurately, and improve system efficiency. Proficiency in relational database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar, along with advanced SQL scripting capabilities. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site environment, communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
