Department Manager - Warehouse

METRO Pakistan (Pvt) Limited, a prominent international wholesale company with 10 centers across major cities including Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Islamabad, and Faisalabad, is looking for a committed professional to oversee the acceptance, storage, and handling of goods within its stores. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient space utilization for incoming goods, maintaining quality standards, and supervising warehouse staff to support seamless operations. The position plays a vital part in maintaining inventory accuracy, minimizing losses, and upholding the company’s dedication to delivering value to both customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and supervise the acceptance and storage of goods, ensuring sufficient space and that only appropriate quality and quantities are received into the store.
- Lead, train, and oversee employees involved in goods handling and storage activities.
- Take responsibility for stock within the assigned area, including monitoring the technical condition of equipment such as instruments, systems, and pressing machines to guarantee uninterrupted operations.
- Assist the Department Manager with handling, checking, and filing delivery documents, while personally overseeing daily labeling processes.
- Receive physical merchandise in designated areas, accurately determine quantities received, and transfer goods to the sales floor efficiently.
- Organize pallet stocktaking and direct pallet handling to minimize losses, ensuring any loss is limited to wear and tear only.
- Investigate and resolve supplier complaints and invoice discrepancies by verifying reasons for deviations and ensuring compliance with correct procedures.
- Supervise the cleaning and maintenance of the goods acceptance area, ensuring adherence to safety requirements to maintain a clean and accident-free environment.
- Regularly monitor department performance to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Continuously track inventory and shrinkage to maintain optimal stock levels in terms of quality, quantity, and safety, aligned with customer segments and company strategy.
- Manage inventories to ensure the right stock is available for the right customer at the right time, maximizing Return on Sales (ROS).

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or Intermediate qualification.
- 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or a related field.
