loomé, the women's fashion label under the Nishat Chunian Group—one of Pakistan’s leading vertically integrated textile manufacturers—is seeking a Deputy Head of Design to join their Lahore-based team. This full-time, on-site role at Nishat HQ involves managing the design studio and ensuring the timely delivery of seasonal collections. The brand specializes in unstitched lawn, winter, festive wear, and pret, with new capsules launching every 5–6 weeks. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Product & Design to transform seasonal directions into finalized, approved products that align with brand standards and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee capsule delivery by managing each collection from approved design direction to finalized designs, tech packs, and approved samples, adhering strictly to the 5–6 week release calendar.
- Lead the design studio team, including print designers, colourists, embroidery designers, and sample makers, by setting daily priorities, conducting reviews, and providing clear, timely feedback.
- Execute print and embroidery designs, including repeats, placement prints, colourways, embroidery layouts, and trims, ensuring specifications are precise for first-time accuracy at the mill.
- Coordinate with in-house weaving, dyeing, and printing teams to approve strike-offs, lab dips, GSM, and finishes.
- Collaborate with merchandising to ensure all styles meet target costs and fabric yields before sampling begins.
- Ensure high-quality handover by delivering complete and accurate tech packs to minimize sampling rounds and revisions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience designing women’s collections for a recognized Pakistani label, with expertise in unstitched, pret, or both.
- Proven track record of taking at least three full seasonal collections from concept through to store launch.
- Direct experience managing a team of designers, beyond simply reviewing their work.
- Proficiency in building and finalizing repeats, placement prints, and embroidery specifications using Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Hands-on experience working with mills or printers on strike-offs, dyeing, and fabric approvals.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines, designing products that sell effectively in the market, not just those that photograph well.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
This senior role offers a clear path for career advancement within a growing brand. Employees benefit from direct access to in-house mills and quality assurance labs, enabling sample production within days rather than weeks. The compensation package includes a competitive salary, performance bonuses, and private health insurance. Additionally, staff enjoy discounts across loomé and The Linen Company.
Applicants are required to submit a portfolio showcasing at least three print designs and two embroidery layouts that have gone into production, including the brand and season for each. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
The application deadline is Friday, 23 October 2026. This position is ideal for a designer who values precision, studio leadership, and creating work that not only gains approval but also drives sales.
