A reputable organization is looking for a seasoned Project Management or Civil Engineering professional to join their team in Haveli Kahuta, Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in managing civil engineering projects from initial design through to completion. This role demands a proactive and hands-on approach to overseeing project schedules, budgets, and quality standards while ensuring strict adherence to government regulations and policies. The position welcomes applicants from all domiciles, with the assessment center located in Islamabad.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, specifications, and execution of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) in alignment with the PC-I document.
- Evaluate and implement civil works by selecting the most effective engineering methods and practices to meet project goals.
- Prepare accurate project cost estimates and identify the necessary tools and technologies for successful delivery.
- Monitor project timelines to ensure milestones and deadlines are consistently met.
- Supervise construction teams, ensuring proper training on equipment usage, compliance with safety protocols, and achievement of project objectives.
- Provide timely solutions to challenges encountered before or during project execution.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable government policies, regulations, and guidelines.
- Liaise and coordinate with relevant authorities such as CDA, LG, and EPA to resolve project-related issues.
- Maintain detailed records of tendering and procurement activities in accordance with government policies and PPRA regulations.
- Manage inventory, including stocktaking and distribution of procured materials as specified in the PC-I document to the respective institutions.
- Oversee supply chain operations to fulfill procurement requirements efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Review costs, cultivate vendor and supplier relationships, and advise the Project Director on procurement decisions.
- Administer contracts by managing bids, negotiating pricing, and monitoring contract compliance.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels, determine purchase timing, and track orders with suppliers.
- Verify invoices and bills before submission to the Budget and Account Specialist for processing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in project management and civil engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of government procurement policies, including PPRA rules.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex civil engineering projects and lead construction teams effectively.
- Strong skills in cost estimation, contract administration, and supply chain coordination.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to collaborate with government agencies and various stakeholders.
