Design And Engineering Systems Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer with at least six years of professional experience in infrastructure construction. The right candidate will take charge of developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules to ensure timely completion of construction projects. This role demands strong expertise in project scheduling methodologies, cost control, and resource allocation to manage and optimize project timelines efficiently. The Planning Engineer will also coordinate with stakeholders to provide accurate progress reports and implement corrective actions when necessary.
The candidate will manage a small team of two professionals, promoting collaboration to achieve project objectives. Proficiency in schedule software such as Primavera P6 and practical knowledge of earned value management and project management frameworks are vital. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within dynamic project environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and other scheduling software.
- Monitor project progress closely and update schedules to reflect actual performance versus planned timelines.
- Apply earned value management techniques to assess project status and forecast potential delays or cost overruns.
- Allocate resources efficiently across projects to optimize productivity and meet deadlines.
- Prepare and deliver regular progress reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, issues, and risks.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure schedule alignment and timely issue resolution.
- Manage cost control activities by tracking project expenditures against budgets and implementing corrective measures.
- Lead and mentor a team of two planning professionals, providing guidance to improve scheduling processes and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Support the implementation and adherence to established project management frameworks and best practices.
- Analyze construction plans and identify potential scheduling conflicts or constraints, proposing effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant infrastructure construction standards and practices during the planning phase.
- Participate in project planning meetings to provide scheduling insights and contribute to decision-making.
