Design And Engineering Systems Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer with at least eight years of expertise to lead and manage project scheduling and cost control activities. The successful candidate will oversee a team of 10 professionals, ensuring that all project timelines, resources, and budgets are meticulously planned and managed to meet company and client expectations. This role requires a strong command of project management tools such as Primavera P6 and a thorough understanding of cost control processes within engineering and construction projects. The Planning Engineer will play a vital role in coordinating project phases, identifying potential risks, and providing solutions to maintain project efficiency and effectiveness.
The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing detailed project schedules, monitoring progress, analyzing variances, and reporting on the status to stakeholders. They will also lead efforts to optimize resource utilization and track project costs to ensure timely delivery within budget. Collaboration across departments and clear communication with project teams are essential to successfully meet project objectives. This role emphasizes leadership, analytical skills, and technical competence in scheduling and cost management, driving the planning team toward continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 to ensure accurate project timelines.
- Lead and manage a team of 10 planning professionals, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project details and ensure alignment on schedules and resources.
- Monitor project progress closely, identify deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and delays.
- Establish and maintain cost control processes to track project expenditures and ensure budget adherence.
- Perform schedule analysis, including critical path method and what-if scenario planning to anticipate and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations on project status, progress, risks, and costs to senior management and clients.
- Facilitate regular planning meetings to review project milestones, resource allocation, and budget status.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Drive continuous process improvements in scheduling and cost management practices to enhance project delivery efficiency.
- Train and mentor team members to develop their technical skills in project scheduling and cost control.
- Collaborate with procurement and construction departments to synchronize schedules and optimize project workflow.
- Analyze project data to forecast future resource and budget needs effectively.
- Support the integration of new planning tools and methodologies to improve project tracking and reporting.
