The incumbent will be responsible for managing project accounting operations, financial reporting, expense monitoring, reconciliations, and cost control activities for ongoing construction projects. The role requires close coordination with project teams and Head Office Finance to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, compliance, and smooth financial operations across multiple sites.
The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a relevant field with minimum 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience. Candidates having experience in construction companies will be preferred. Strong command of MS Excel and accounting software is essential.
Responsibilities
- Manage all project accounting functions, including recording and analyzing financial transactions related to construction projects.
- Coordinate closely with project teams and the Head Office Finance department to maintain accuracy in project-wise financial records and reporting.
- Prepare and review comprehensive financial reports, ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and control expenses related to construction projects by regularly reviewing budgets, forecasts, and cost allocations.
- Conduct regular reconciliations, including general ledger, bank accounts, and transaction matching, to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Lead and support the month-end close process by compiling financial data, verifying accuracy, and ensuring timely completion of all accounting activities.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain the integrity of financial data across multiple sites.
- Analyze financial statements to provide meaningful insights to management about financial performance, variances, and trends.
- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely processing and accurate recording of transactions.
- Manage, mentor, and guide a team of two accounting professionals to achieve department goals and enhance their skills and performance.
- Utilize accounting software efficiently to streamline operations, improve reporting accuracy, and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Support audits by preparing required documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reduce costs, and enhance financial controls within the projects and overall organization.
