Development Lead (PHP + Wordpress+Shopify)

COLAB Marketing Inc. is seeking an experienced Development Lead to oversee and drive the web development function, focusing on the creation, maintenance, optimization, and delivery of websites and e-commerce platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in PHP, WordPress, Shopify, and Magento, coupled with proven leadership skills to manage development teams, handle technical projects, troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain high-quality coding standards. This role requires a candidate with prior experience working in a marketing company and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the development team to ensure timely delivery of projects that meet client requirements.
- Plan, prioritize, and allocate development tasks among team members efficiently.
- Develop, customize, and maintain websites and web applications using PHP.
- Manage WordPress websites, including custom theme and plugin development, integrations, and troubleshooting.
- Customize and optimize Shopify stores, including theme adjustments, app integrations, and performance enhancements.
- Develop and maintain Magento-based e-commerce platforms, handling themes, extensions, and integrations.
- Write clean, scalable, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to best practices.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to development standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical, performance, security, and functionality issues promptly.
- Optimize websites for speed, responsiveness, scalability, and cross-browser/device compatibility.
- Collaborate closely with designers, SEO specialists, project managers, and other stakeholders to fulfill client needs.
- Provide accurate technical planning, development estimates, and timelines.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks or blockers, and implement solutions.
- Manage website migrations, API integrations, and third-party tool connections as required.
- Maintain website security, backups, updates, and overall technical health.
- Stay current with emerging web technologies, development frameworks, AI tools, and industry best practices.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers to support their technical growth and team development.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in full-stack or web development within a marketing company.
- Strong hands-on experience with PHP, WordPress, Shopify, and Magento development and customization.
- Proficient in HTML and CSS with a solid understanding of responsive web design principles.
- Demonstrated experience in a development lead, senior developer, or team leadership role.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on website performance, security, and optimization.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote work environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
