We are looking for a highly experienced DevOps Engineer IV with a strong focus on Platform Engineering. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud and platform architecture, DevOps methodologies, Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, Kubernetes, automation, and enterprise platform solutions. This senior technical role involves leading the design and continuous improvement of scalable, secure, resilient, and automated cloud and developer platforms across AWS and Azure environments. The successful candidate will translate complex business and engineering requirements into robust platform architectures, provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and validate architectural decisions through hands-on implementation. This position emphasizes technical leadership without direct people management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and evolve platform engineering architecture and strategy across AWS and Azure, ensuring platforms are scalable, secure, reliable, operable, and cost-efficient.
- Develop standardized reference architectures, engineering standards, and reusable platform patterns covering networking, compute, storage, IAM, Kubernetes, serverless, observability, and application delivery.
- Architect secure self-service cloud platforms and paved roads that enable engineering teams to efficiently consume infrastructure capabilities.
- Lead architecture and design reviews to ensure alignment with enterprise engineering, security, governance, and operational standards.
- Evaluate emerging cloud-native technologies and establish architectural direction based on evolving business and technical needs.
- Define and enforce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards using Terraform/OpenTofu, focusing on modular design, versioning, testing, governance, and lifecycle management.
- Establish automation strategies to reduce manual infrastructure and operational tasks, integrating IaC with CI/CD and GitOps workflows.
- Drive GitOps architecture and standards using tools such as Argo CD or Flux, including declarative configuration, secrets management, drift detection, rollback, and policy enforcement.
- Define Kubernetes architecture and engineering standards for enterprise container platforms like Amazon EKS and Azure AKS, addressing cluster design, networking, security, scalability, observability, and lifecycle management.
- Architect Internal Developer Platform capabilities that simplify infrastructure provisioning and application delivery through reusable services, APIs, workflows, and self-service features.
- Define AI and agentic engineering architecture patterns to integrate AI capabilities into DevOps workflows, evaluating platforms such as Amazon Bedrock and Azure OpenAI.
- Establish cloud governance frameworks covering IAM, RBAC, security, compliance, policy-as-code, tagging, cost controls, and FinOps practices.
- Provide technical leadership for complex cross-team initiatives, mentor engineers, facilitate architecture discussions, and influence engineering standards across the organization.

Required Qualifications

- Over 10 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Extensive expertise in designing enterprise-scale cloud and platform architectures, particularly with AWS.
- Expert-level proficiency with Terraform/OpenTofu, including modular frameworks, governance, and large-scale implementations.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, especially Amazon EKS and/or Azure AKS, including architecture, security, networking, and lifecycle management.
- Solid understanding of GitOps and CI/CD architectures, with hands-on experience using Argo CD, Flux, or similar tools.
- In-depth knowledge of IAM, RBAC, cloud security best practices, policy-as-code, compliance, and audit controls.
- Strong automation and scripting skills using Python, Go, PowerShell, Bash, TypeScript, or equivalent languages.
- Experience with observability, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, operational excellence, and cloud cost optimization (FinOps).
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor teams, and translate complex requirements into scalable platform solutions.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience designing Internal Developer Platforms and establishing enterprise-wide paved roads or golden paths.
- Background in implementing GitOps at scale across multiple Kubernetes clusters and environments.
- Experience with large-scale cloud migration and modernization programs.
- Familiarity with multi-cloud environments, including Azure/AKS.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted DevOps workflows using platforms such as Amazon Bedrock or Azure OpenAI.
- Relevant certifications in AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, or related technologies are advantageous.
- Commitment to innovation, decision quality, managing complexity, driving results, and business insight.
- Competitive salary and benefits package, including quarterly perks, generous time off, hybrid work options, continuous learning opportunities, professional certifications, and leadership development programs.
- A diverse and inclusive global culture that values authenticity, trust, curiosity, and diversity of thought.
- Use of AI tools to support the hiring process while ensuring final decisions are made by human recruiters.

This role presents a unique opportunity to lead and influence enterprise platform engineering at a senior level, driving innovation and operational excellence across cloud environments.
