DevOps Engineer

We develop the commerce platform powering some of the world’s largest restaurant brands. Our Simplex Suite supports global QSR and F&B companies by managing their websites, mobile apps, self-ordering kiosks, call-center ordering, delivery, and loyalty programs. Built on AWS, the platform handles high transaction volumes with 99.99% uptime across the Middle East and Europe. We are seeking a senior DevOps Engineer to maintain and enhance the platform’s speed, reliability, and security as we continue to scale. Key Responsibilities
- Build and operate the AWS infrastructure that powers the platform, including EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, S3, VPC, CloudFront, Route 53, and IAM, ensuring scalability, high availability, and multi-region resilience.
- Containerize workloads using Docker and manage them on ECS/EKS with secure, clean images.
- Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, integrating SonarQube for quality and security gates to ensure only high-standard code is deployed.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and automate routine tasks such as provisioning, scaling, and backups through Bash and Python scripting.
- Monitor platform health through metrics, logs, traces, and Service Level Objectives (SLOs), maintain on-call responsibilities, and ensure security is embedded by default.
- Proactively identify risks related to cost, capacity, and reliability, and keep runbooks updated to empower the team to manage operations effectively.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), with deep expertise in core AWS services.
- Strong proficiency with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.
- Practical experience managing CI/CD workflows in GitHub Actions, including integrating SonarQube for code quality and security checks.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK, along with automation scripting skills in Bash and Python.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a strong focus on documentation, knowledge sharing, and team enablement.
- Security-conscious approach to coding, pipeline management, and infrastructure design.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- AWS certifications such as DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS), observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog, and experience with FinOps or cost optimization strategies.
- Familiarity with regulated and audit-ready environments, including standards like ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI-DSS.
