We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to take full ownership of our cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and environment management. In this role, you will work hands-on with infrastructure as code using reusable Terraform modules, ensuring that development, staging, and production environments are clean, consistent, and well-maintained. Your focus will be on delivering fast, reliable, and low-risk releases while collaborating closely with development teams to streamline builds, releases, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and version reusable Terraform modules that standardize AWS infrastructure components.
- Manage live infrastructure configurations across multiple environments using Terraform to provision and maintain AWS resources.
- Provision and operate ECS/Fargate services for containerized applications.
- Set up and manage AWS Batch for compute-intensive jobs.
- Oversee SQS queues and the background workers that process them.
- Administer RDS/PostgreSQL databases, including backups, restores, performance tuning, and access control.
- Manage Redis (ElastiCache) for caching and queue workloads.
- Handle S3 bucket configurations, permissions, lifecycle policies, and security.
- Design and maintain AWS networking components such as VPCs, subnets, security groups, load balancers, and related resources.
- Manage EC2 instances as required.
- Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI, ensuring environment separation and secure secrets management.
- Maintain clean separation and consistency between DEV, STAGING, and PROD environments.
- Containerize applications using Docker and manage Python environments with conda.
- Configure process orchestration to ensure reliable service and worker restarts and scaling.
- Monitor system health, logs, and uptime, responding promptly to incidents.
- Continuously improve security, cost efficiency, and infrastructure reliability.
- Document infrastructure modules, environments, deployment processes, and runbooks.
- Collaborate with developers to optimize build, release, and debugging workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, including writing reusable modules and managing live environment configurations (state management, variables, outputs, workspaces).
- Extensive AWS knowledge, including ECS/Fargate, AWS Batch, SQS, RDS/PostgreSQL, Redis (ElastiCache), S3, EC2, and IAM.
- Solid understanding of AWS networking concepts such as VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, load balancers, DNS, and SSL/TLS.
- Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in CircleCI, with environment separation and secrets management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple environments (DEV, STAGING, PROD) with safe promotion processes.
- Proficiency in Docker for containerization and conda for Python environment management.
- Experience running and monitoring background workers and queue systems (e.g., SQS, Celery).
- Familiarity with process orchestration tools such as ECS task definitions, Supervisor, systemd, or Docker Compose.
- Strong Linux administration and shell scripting skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting capabilities and a calm, methodical approach to production issues.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills for documentation and team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with Terragrunt or similar tools for managing live Terraform configurations.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, specifically EKS.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or Sentry.
