Accountant

Diamond Jewellers seeks a meticulous and detail-oriented Accountant with at least one year of experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will manage general ledger accounting, prepare journal entries, and assist in budgeting and forecasting to support the companys financial health. This role involves working closely with financial records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting using accounting software. Although this position does not involve managing a team, the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with other departments is essential. The Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining smooth financial operations, assisting with month-end and year-end closings, and providing key insights through accurate financial data analysis. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles to contribute to the companys strategic financial planning and decision-making processes.
Responsibilities

Maintain and update the general ledger by recording all financial transactions accurately and timely.
Prepare and post journal entries to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
Assist in developing budgets and forecasts by collecting and analyzing financial information to guide company planning.
Use accounting software to manage transactions, generate reports, and track financial performance.
Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial integrity and compliance with policies.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities to prepare accurate financial statements.
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards in all financial activities.
