This is an exciting opportunity to work with a UK based firm as an Accounts/Portfolio Manager. We are looking for an energetic, service focused individual to assist small business owners with their tax and accountancy needs. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
Qualification
ACCA qualified, or in the final stages of study, with demonstrable experience managing a varied client portfolio in a UK based firm
Must Have: The cadidate must have an experience of 2 to 3 years with a UK based firm
Job Description
- Preparation of statutory and management accounts.
- Preparation of sole-trader, partnership accounts and tax returns.
- Confidently deliver advisory services and training for clients.
- Prepare and Review VAT returns.
- Support other team members, overseeing activities like bookkeeping and payroll.
- Review the work of other team members.
- Manage workflow and ensure client expectations and deadlines are being met.
- Support with general accountancy services and business advice.
- Build trusted relationships with a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Promote and strive for customer service excellence.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as required
Skills
- Demonstrable experience working within practice.
- Has basic understanding of accounting standards
- Good knowledge across accountancy systems.
- Strong communication and advisory skills.
- Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Self-motivated and able to manage a team’s workflow.
- A team player able to bring out the best in others.
- Confidently mentor junior team members, in a positive and constructive manner
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Xero and QuickBooks
- Advanced MS Excel skills
Working hours
1:00pm to 9:30pm, 5 days a week
