.Role and responsibilities:
- Provide technical domain expertise for Infrastructure including servers, storage, hypervisor, VDIs, backups, physical facilities and physical layouts that support the applications and business processes.
- Design, build, and manage physical and virtual infrastructure environments.
- Deploy, operate, manage, monitor, troubleshoot and provide support for VMware infrastructure.
- Design and setup backup/replication with tools such as Zerto, Veeam, Rubrik and plan/test disaster recovery and business continuity activities.
- Plan and perform P2V and V2V migrations.
- Maintain IT Environment Providers and/or Service Provider product standards and reusable solutions.
- Create and update Technical Solution Design documents.
- Demonstrate experience in Infrastructure architecture, with the ability to clearly formulate end-to-end hosting environment technical plans in accordance with requirements.
- Co-ordinate and plan datacenter activities including rack/stack, cabling, power and cooling and maintain inventory.
- Demonstrate customer service, communications and leadership skills.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of information technology and associated methods and tools used to attain project/business objectives.
- Experience with VMware ESXi and related technologies
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions like Zerto, Rubrik, Veeam etc.
- Experience setting up and managing IT and datacenter infrastructure including servers, storage, network, virtualization, backups, VDI.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of enterprise architecture principals.
- Working knowledge of infrastructure design.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise level IT solutions.
- Good Understanding of Hyper converged Infrastructure (VMware and Nutanix)
- Experience in the evaluation and selection of Software and Equipment components of the Infrastructure.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of the PMI process groups (initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing) and current Project Management methodologies
- At least five years of progressive IT experience in large IT environments.
Skills/Tools/Certifications:
- VMware, Zerto, Veeam, Rubrik
- VCP Certified.
