Job Summary:

The purpose of this role is to protect the design intent of launched products to meet all business requirements.  They will help resolve issues for the entire customer base by providing high-level technical support, quality assurance, and sustaining engineering services for the Optanix Platform.  They will work within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and also have frequent interaction with internal & external customers.  The Quality Assurance Engineer role will serve as the entry point for all new bugs reported by customers (internal or external), starting with triaging to validate the reported issue, and then working closely with development and architect stakeholders to create a proposed solution.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Create test plans for all functionality within the Optanix Platform.
  2. Create and maintain/update test automation functionality both within the CI/CD pipeline (i.e. code checks) & for feature functionality.
  3. Write and maintain support documentation to be used by Software Services Team in supporting the released products.
  4. Develop and deliver supporting training to Software Support front lines teams for new product releases. 
  5. Deliver high-quality customer service for Optanix’s Clients and Support Service Groups by developing and applying skills to proactively, reliably, and consistently solve related support issues.
  6. Report and track the resolution of software bugs reported by customers.
  7. Own or execute aspects of the incident lifecycle management process, from the initial response, dispatch, closure, and incident coding through the reporting process.
  8. Develop and consistently manifest a sense of ownership and responsibility regarding all support issues.
  9. Define, document, and implement policies & procedures as required.
  10. Contribute to and participate in the development of Optanix's knowledge base.
  11. Identify innovative technological and management solutions with the Manager and peers.
  12. Maintains a working knowledge of all Codes and Standards applicable to the assigned product lines
  13. Ownership & execution of the escalation & triage process to identify root cause & next steps for development resolution.
  14. Regular triage meetings.
  15. Coordination of issue resolutions through hotfixes and product releases
  16. Occasional direct customer contact and communication along with the support team

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience and/or certifications.
  2. A firm grasp of computer science fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and programming.
  3. Strong communication and collaboration skills
  4. Experience using modern development collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, Git, CI/CD pipelines
  5. Knowledge of networking technology and protocols
  6. A natural innovator who strives to continuously learn and improve
  7. Knowledge of service availability and performance management
  8. Development experience in Core Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP, Perl.
  9. Experience with MySQL & Cassandra
  10. Develop proficiency with ACCELQ within 4 months of starting (OTJ training to be provided by peers)
