We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional with a strong academic background in International Relations, Development Studies, Economics, Political Science, or a related field. While a Ph.D. degree is preferred, candidates currently pursuing a Ph.D. are also encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills and specialized expertise in China, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and Central Asia. This position requires a seasoned researcher with a proven record of academic and policy-oriented contributions, capable of leading research projects and fostering international collaborations to advance the Centre’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage research projects focused on China, SCO, and Central Asia, ensuring the timely completion of high-quality deliverables.
- Supervise and mentor a team of researchers, encouraging a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Develop and sustain professional relationships with Chinese think tanks, research institutions, and universities to promote fellowships, joint research initiatives, academic exchanges, and international partnerships.
- Conceptualize and organize policy dialogues, conferences, and bilateral exchanges that support the Centre’s strategic goals.
- Maintain the Centre’s standards of integrity, professionalism, transparency, and accountability in all institutional and research activities.
- Contribute to enhancing the Centre’s research excellence, institutional reputation, and global outreach through strategic vision and innovative approaches.

Required Qualifications

- Ph.D. degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Economics, Political Science, or a related discipline. Candidates enrolled in a Ph.D. program will also be considered.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in universities, think tanks, research institutions, or policy-oriented organizations.
- A minimum of five research publications recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, including experience supervising researchers and managing project deliverables within deadlines.
- Established professional networks with Chinese academic and research institutions, with proven experience in international fellowships and collaborative research projects.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information

- Strong analytical skills with a focused expertise on China, SCO, and Central Asia.
- Proven ability to organize and lead research projects, policy dialogues, and international academic exchanges.
- Commitment to leadership, teamwork, mentorship, and improving organizational efficiency.
- Age limit: Candidates should not be older than 50 years, with a general age relaxation of 5 years.
