Dispatch Manager

We are looking for a skilled Dispatch Manager to lead and oversee our dispatch team, ensuring efficient and profitable fleet operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily dispatch activities, optimizing driver routing, and maintaining compliance with DOT regulations. This role requires a strong focus on driver retention and customer satisfaction while maximizing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Team Leadership: Manage, schedule, and train the dispatch team. Establish and monitor key performance indicators such as on-time delivery, driver retention, and rate-per-mile.
- Fleet Optimization: Oversee load assignments and route planning using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and GPS technology to maximize revenue and minimize deadhead miles.
- Driver Management: Serve as the primary escalation point for drivers, addressing operational issues, route changes, and schedule delays promptly.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service (HOS) rules, and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) compliance across the fleet.
- Reporting: Monitor and report on key metrics including cost-per-mile, fleet utilization, fuel efficiency, and weekly gross revenue to support operational decision-making.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in trucking dispatch, with at least 1 to 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Proficient in dispatch software such as DAT, Truck Stop, and 123 Load Board.
- Comprehensive knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, HOS logs, and various equipment types.
- Strong leadership abilities combined with excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
