Draughtsman / Estimator

The Junior Draughtsman / Estimator role is based in Lahore, Pakistan, and reports directly to the Senior Designer or Business Unit Manager. This full-time, on-site position offers a monthly compensation ranging from PKR 130,000 to 190,000. Ideal candidates will have between one to three years of experience and possess fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal. The primary focus of this role is to support the design team by preparing 2D technical drawings, conducting design calculations, and developing cost estimates for safety and construction systems. This position combines technical drafting with estimation duties, making it well-suited for individuals with CAD training, strong mathematical abilities, and a keen interest in advancing their expertise in construction design and project estimation.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare 2D general arrangement drawings, fixing details, and revisions under supervision.
- Translate project scopes, drawings, and specifications into technically sound designs.
- Collaborate closely with clients, suppliers, and international design teams to ensure accurate deliverables.
- Design safety and access systems that comply with relevant standards and safety regulations.
- Develop detailed cost estimates, pricing breakdowns, and project calculations for management review.
- Independently prepare project costings for projects valued up to the equivalent of £25,000 in PKR.
- Maintain accurate project and customer information within company systems.
- Review and verify designs and safety plans to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Facilitate smooth transitions from quotation stages to project execution.
- Ensure proper archiving and management of all design documentation in centralized systems.
- Promptly escalate any deviations or safety concerns to the appropriate team lead.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Architecture, or Design.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Strong mathematical, spatial, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Prior experience or exposure to technical drawing or estimation is advantageous.
