Dy. Project Manager / Chief Resident Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering professional to take on a senior leadership role in construction supervision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, with extensive experience as a Chief Resident Engineer. This position requires hands-on involvement in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring quality and compliance, and driving projects to successful completion within budget and schedule constraints. The role is based on-site and offers a competitive monthly salary.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate the supervision of civil, mechanical, and electrical works, ensuring seamless technical interfaces, proper construction sequencing, and adherence to approved drawings and specifications.
- Review and recommend approval of contractors’ construction methodologies, work programs, shop drawings, material and equipment submittals, as well as inspection and testing procedures; monitor the implementation of these approved requirements.
- Monitor construction progress against baseline schedules, identify technical challenges, delays, and potential cost/time overruns, and propose corrective and recovery actions.
- Support contract administration under FIDIC conditions, including reviewing contractors’ claims, variations, extension-of-time requests, payment applications, and other contractual documents; provide informed recommendations to the client.
- Establish and oversee quality assurance and quality control procedures, including inspection and testing of works and materials, identification of non-conformities, implementation of corrective actions, and verification of completed works.
- Coordinate with the client, contractors, utilities, and relevant authorities to resolve technical, construction, interface, and utility-related issues; lead regular site and progress coordination meetings.
- Collaborate with Environmental and Social specialists to monitor the implementation of ESIA/ESMP, CESMP, LMP, SEP, RAP/ARAP, health and safety protocols, and World Bank/IFC Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements during construction.
- Lead technical activities related to testing, commissioning, project completion, and handover.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field.
- Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years as a Chief Resident Engineer on construction projects.
- Proven track record of managing large infrastructure projects with responsibility for multidisciplinary supervision and contract administration.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions and construction quality assurance processes.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Master’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is highly desirable.
- Experience supervising infrastructure projects as a Chief Resident Engineer for a minimum of 5 years is preferred.
- Competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs 350,000 to Rs 400,000.
- The position requires full-time, in-person presence at the project site.
