The EITM Presales Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle. This position requires a strong understanding of customer needs to design and present tailored network and security solutions. The engineer will act as the primary technical liaison for prospective clients, collaborating closely with internal teams and vendors to ensure solutions align with customer requirements and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the sales team and account managers to identify customer needs and uncover opportunities in network infrastructure and security.
- Conduct thorough technical assessments of client environments to define optimal network and security architectures.
- Design and configure solutions involving routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, wireless, and VPN technologies, primarily using Cisco and Juniper platforms.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, bills of material, and proposals that clearly demonstrate the value of the solutions.
- Provide pre-sales support including demos, proofs of concept (PoCs), lab validations, and respond to technical inquiries from clients.
- Support RFP and RFI processes by preparing technical responses, compliance matrices, and architecture documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of networking, security, monitoring, cloud technologies, and vendor product roadmaps.
- Communicate customer feedback and requirements to product managers, vendors, and engineering teams to influence future product development.
- Ensure smooth handover of won projects to delivery teams with comprehensive design documentation and clear scope definitions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or network engineering role with direct customer interaction.
- Strong foundational knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, and STP.
- Proficiency in Cisco or Juniper platforms supported by relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, or JNCIP.
- Practical experience with network security components including firewalls, VPN, IPSec, and SSL/TLS, adhering to organizational security standards.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, Manage Engine, and Cisco Prime.
- Solid understanding of system integration methodologies and best practices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical documentation/diagramming tools.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Candidates with experience in conducting product demos, delivering proofs of concept, and supporting sales teams in enterprise environments will have an advantage. Prior exposure to system integration, product customization, or architecture design is highly desirable.
