Electrical Engineer/Mechanical Engineer

Bin Hashim Supermart is seeking a skilled Electrical or Mechanical Engineer to oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and management of electrical and mechanical systems within its supermarket facilities. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of equipment, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, panels, lighting, and power distribution equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, generators, HVAC systems, and refrigeration units.
- Ensure proper functioning of chillers, freezers, display refrigerators, and other supermarket-related machinery.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce equipment breakdowns and extend asset life.
- Diagnose technical faults promptly and implement effective solutions.
- Monitor electricity consumption and suggest energy-saving initiatives.
- Coordinate with technicians, contractors, and maintenance teams for repairs, installations, and upgrades.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service records.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, workplace safety protocols, and relevant regulations.
- Monitor spare parts inventory and manage procurement processes as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns to minimize operational disruptions.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, preferably within supermarkets, retail stores, shopping malls, or commercial facilities.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration systems, generators, motors, pumps, and electrical distribution systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as coordinate effectively with maintenance teams.
- Good communication and time-management abilities.

Working Conditions
This is a full-time, in-person position based at Bin Hashim Supermart in Karachi. The role may require working flexible shifts and responding to emergency maintenance situations. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Compensation
The position offers a competitive salary of up to Rs300,000 per month.
