The Financial Accountant is responsible for tracking, recording, and analyzing the companys monetary data while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes. This role involves building detailed monthly, quarterly, and yearly profit-and-loss statements, reconciling bank records and ledgers to prevent errors, producing timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing reports, and ensuring compliance with all tax regulations. The individual also collaborates closely with external auditors by providing essential documentation and supports management by reporting key financial indicators that guide strategic decision-making. This position does not include managing a team but requires strong organizational and communication skills to effectively coordinate with other departments and external parties.
Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
Perform general ledger accounting duties to ensure consistency and accuracy in all recorded transactions.
Conduct regular account reconciliation, matching bank statements with company ledgers to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Lead month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure deadlines are met with precision and all financial activity is correctly recorded.
Develop and update budgeting and forecasting models to assist management in financial planning and decision-making.
Analyze financial data to perform variance analysis, identifying trends and deviations for reporting to senior management.
Oversee internal controls related to accounting processes to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Prepare and file tax returns and compliance documentation within regulatory timelines, ensuring full adherence to tax laws.
Support external audits by organizing and providing necessary documentation, responding to inquiries, and facilitating audit procedures.
Manage cash flow by monitoring expenses, payroll, and other financial activities to maintain financial stability and operational efficiency.
Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, and QuickBooks to streamline accounting processes and improve data accuracy.
Create and maintain advanced Excel financial models incorporating pivot tables, lookups, and other tools to enhance data analysis capabilities.
