The Forklift Truck Driver is responsible for operating various classes of forklifts such as counterbalance or reach trucks to transport, stack, and load materials in a warehouse environment. The driver strictly adheres to workplace safety protocols and performs regular equipment inspections to guarantee machinery functionality and safety compliance. Good communication skills are essential to coordinate with warehouse personnel during shifting operations. Physical stamina and basic math skills are important to handle warehouse tasks efficiently while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. This position demands a high level of responsibility and attention to detail to minimize risks and ensure the timely movement of materials.
Responsibilities

Operate forklift trucks safely to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse according to company procedures.
Perform daily pre-shift and post-shift inspections of forklifts to identify any mechanical issues or safety hazards and report them promptly.
Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines and regulations, including OSHA standards and warehouse-specific safety policies.
Assist in warehouse inventory operations by accurately counting, stacking, and organizing products as required.
Handle materials and loads carefully to prevent damage during transportation and storage.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of forklift equipment and the immediate work area to promote safety and efficiency.
Communicate effectively with warehouse teams to coordinate the timely movement and placement of goods.
Adhere strictly to operating procedures and utilize visual inspection techniques to assess load stability and equipment condition.
Follow health and safety protocols to minimize the risk of accidents, including wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
Demonstrate basic mechanical skills by performing minor maintenance tasks and troubleshooting forklift issues when necessary.
Maintain physical fitness necessary for prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and occasional manual lifting up to 50 pounds.
Apply basic arithmetic skills to verify quantities and inventory orders during warehouse operations.
Report any incidents or potential hazards to the relevant supervisor immediately.
Support teamwork within the warehouse by offering assistance where needed to meet operational deadlines.
