ROLE SUMMARY
The data engineer will be focusing on a variety of projects within the engineering team including the creation of the data pipeline, feature engineering, and building the ETL’s of scalable data solutions. Working collaboratively with engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business intelligence teams you will part of the team that manages data across the organization. You will be responsible for designing and implementing data strategies and providing data that can be ingested by the data science and operational teams accordingly.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.
Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Keep our data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and AWS regions.
Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

● Relevant technical experience.
● Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide advice to non-technically aware customers.
YOU MUST HAVE:
At least 3 years of professional experience working with data pipelines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good Expertise with Python and a dialect of SQL
At ease with the use of bash and Linux
Data Warehousing Experience in Redshift or another distributed platform (e.g. Hadoop+Hive/Presto, BigQuery, or Snowflake) - experience with several platforms is a plus!
Experience with task orchestration tools (Airflow, Talend, etc.)
Experience of data streaming platforms would be an advantage (Spark, Kafka, Kinesis, etc.)
Experience with building Data Lake
ElasticSearch experience would be a plus
