Experience: 2+ years’ experience

  • Responsible and experienced Solar Power Engineer required with an excellent record of individual and corporate customer satisfaction.
  • Mindful-of and knowledgeable of solar PV products and applications.
  • Adept at explaining complex technical engineering concepts clearly and accessibly to a wide variety of professional and non-professional audiences.

Core Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline      
  • Proficiency with industry standard software (i.e PVSyst, HelioScope, pvPLanner, AutoCAD etc. and Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Extensive breadth of experience in electrical engineering and solar power site evaluation
  • Excellent grasp of solar power schematic development
  • Strong ability to draft and interpret solar power design plans
  • Sound familiarity with solar power engineering industry safety rules and regulations
  • Superior ability to work with design team and implement mechanical structural and electrical civil engineering designs
  • Exceptional knowledge of electrical power system design and small to mid-scale solar power electronics
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills

Job Description

  • Responsible for engineering and design (using industry standard software) off grid and on grid connected solar photovoltaic systems (including rooftop, carport and ground mounted arrays) in order to design the most optimal layout with the most appropriate technologies.
  • Manage proposals and obtaining related services and provide design consultation for projects. drawings and schedule with project team.
  • Produce pre-conceptual designs with accompanying production estimates and review structural, geotechnical, for projects.
  • Review solar system engineering designs, modeling, and performance data, and provide engineering support with design team during the construction process.
  • Manage external consultants to obtain assessments of project structural or geotechnical considerations, interconnect issues, and to identify the required approvals from Authorities
  • Review the costs of structural estimates, interconnection, permitting agreements, production estimates, and assessment of commercial risk factors.
  • Oversee the development of structural and electrical designs for net-metering, roof, ground and parking canopy solar electric systems that meet all regional and local customer defined requirements.
  • Maintain design and proposal requirements, knowledge of codes and standards, design procedures, methods and process, improve efficiency of project development and project selection process

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience Power Systems or Solar Engineering highly desirable
  • 2~4 years of commercial PV engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of photovoltaic system design and optimizing system components for energy production.
  • Working knowledge of energy modelling, PV specific modelling, standard electrical calculations, basic structural & mechanical calculation
  • Experience in providing technical support for energy-related projects with accountability for project performance and design
  • Strong knowledge of PV components and related manufacturers
  • Experience in value engineering of photovoltaic or other constructions projects
  • Experience with medium voltage power electronics
  • Good working knowledge of standard utility process for interconnection approval and design requirements.
  • Proficiency with industry standard software (i.e PVsyst, Helioscope, pvPLanner, AutoCAD etc.)
  • Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills
  • Position is based in Lahore, some travel required.
