We are seeking a skilled Embroidery Digitizer to transform our design team’s artwork into precise, production-ready embroidery files. This role involves close collaboration with designers and the production team to ensure that every motif, border, and neckline is perfectly adapted for various fabrics such as lawn, chiffon, cotton, jacquard, velvet, and winter materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of embroidery techniques and machine capabilities to deliver high-quality results that meet brand standards and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert design artwork, including sketches, CAD, AI, and CDR files, into stitch files suitable for multi-head embroidery machines. This includes selecting appropriate stitch types, density, underlay, pull compensation, and sequencing tailored to each fabric type.
- Digitize a wide range of garment placements such as front panels, daman borders, necklines, sleeves, dupatta pallus, and all-over (jaal) motifs for both unstitched and ready-to-wear garments.
- Recreate hand-embroidery effects like chikankari, thread work, sequins, and cording in machine-friendly files that retain the handcrafted aesthetic.
- Optimize stitch counts and thread changes to minimize machine time and costs while maintaining the quality expected by the brand.
- Conduct test sew-outs, review samples with the design team, and revise digitized files until final approval is obtained.
- Troubleshoot production issues including puckering, thread breaks, gaps, and registration errors in coordination with machine operators and production supervisors.
- Prepare detailed color sheets, thread charts, and production specifications for each design.
- Maintain an organized library of digitized designs with clear version control to support repeat orders and seasonal collections.
- Manage multiple collections simultaneously and meet strict seasonal launch deadlines for Lawn, Eid, Festive, and Winter lines.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an embroidery digitizer, preferably within fashion or textiles, with a strong emphasis on Pakistani women’s wear.
- Proficient in Wilcom EmbroideryStudio and/or Tajima DG/ML by Pulse; familiarity with other digitizing platforms is advantageous.
- Practical knowledge of multi-head embroidery machines such as Tajima, Barudan, ZSK, or similar; experience with Schiffli machines is a plus.
- Deep understanding of fabric behavior and the ability to adjust stitch density and underlay accordingly, especially for lightweight fabrics like lawn and chiffon.
- Competent in Adobe Illustrator and/or CorelDRAW for artwork preparation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong appreciation for traditional South Asian embroidery motifs and styles.
- Ability to work efficiently under seasonal deadlines and communicate effectively with both design and production teams.
- A portfolio showcasing digitized designs and sew-out samples is required for application.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience working with specialized techniques such as sequin, cording, cutwork, appliqué, or 3D/puff embroidery.
- Familiarity with men’s kurta embroidery, including collars, plackets, and cuffs.
- Diploma or certification in textile design, fashion design, or a related discipline is desirable.
