Tax Assistant

Eminent Holdings is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Assistant with at least three years of experience to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and monitoring income tax and sales tax compliance for assigned entities. This role requires expertise in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating tax returns and related schedules while ensuring strict adherence to tax regulations and standards. The Tax Assistant will also manage interactions with regulatory authorities such as FBR, IRIS, and PRAL, effectively handling notices, queries, and correspondence. In addition to tax compliance responsibilities, the Tax Assistant will oversee day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including reviewing financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial reporting. Managing a small team of one person, the candidate will collaborate closely with tax advisors, management, and various departments to resolve discrepancies and maintain proper documentation for audits and assessments. This position demands strong technical skills in tax and finance software, excellent organizational abilities, and a thorough understanding of current tax laws and procedures.
Responsibilities

Manage and monitor income tax and sales tax compliance for the assigned entities, ensuring timely and accurate filing of tax returns and statements.
Prepare, review, and coordinate tax returns, withholding tax returns, and related schedules in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Monitor and reconcile tax deductions, collections, deposits, and supporting documentation to maintain accurate tax records.
Review the tax treatment of purchases, sales, imports, expenses, and services, ensuring correctness and adherence to applicable tax laws and regulations.
Handle tax authority matters including notices, queries, correspondence, and follow-ups with FBR, IRIS, PRAL, and other regulatory bodies.
Coordinate with internal tax advisors and company management on tax positions, assessments, compliance matters, and updates to tax laws and procedures.
Monitor and interpret changes to tax legislation such as Finance Acts, SROs, Rules, and FBR procedures to maintain up-to-date compliance standards.
Maintain proper documentation, tax records, and working papers required for audits, tax assessments, reconciliations, and management reviews.
Oversee daily accounting and finance operations for assigned entities including reviewing accounting entries, ledgers, trial balances, receivables, payables, and expenses.
Ensure transactions are recorded, classified, supported, and reconciled accurately to maintain financial integrity and completeness.
Monitor bank accounts, cash transactions, customer balances, and vendor balances to ensure accuracy and consistency with financial records.
Review periodic financial information and management reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
Collaborate with finance, accounting, and other relevant departments to obtain necessary supporting documents and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding items.
Manage a team member, providing guidance, oversight, and support to ensure seamless execution of tax and finance responsibilities.
Ensure timely completion of all accounting and tax-related activities, including follow-up on outstanding finance matters to meet organizational deadlines.
