Medical Coder Required for (Night Shift)
A well established Medical Billing Company based in Karachi needs the Services of Medical Coder (Evening and Night Shift). Candidate must have 2-3 years of experience as Medical Coder and working knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-9, CPT Coding.
Job Description:
The Medical Coder is responsible for entering and coding patient services into an EMR or PMS system, handles insurance claims and performs collections duties.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Translate patient information and into alphanumeric medical code
- Must be able to read and understand diagnosis (ICD9/10)
- Code patient services and enter into PMS/Billing System
- Ensure healthcare facilities are reimbursed properly for all the procedures performed
- Manage information about patient treatment, diagnosis and related procedures to ensure proper coding
- Must have good knowledge of several coding systems including CPT, HCPCS Level 1 & 2
- Must be able to read and understand charts within EMR and super bills
- Follow up to see whether a claim is accepted or denied
- Investigate rejected claim to find out why denial was issued
