Engineering Manager - Control Plane + Distributed Systems

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join the ZPA engineering team in Hyderabad. This hybrid role reports to the Senior Manager of Engineering, ZPA, and involves leading a team of 6-8 software engineers responsible for developing scalable, secure, and reliable cloud security solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in building and maintaining the world’s largest cloud security platform from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a team of engineers to develop high-quality software that is performant, scalable, reusable, extensible, secure, supportable, and reliable.
- Drive the design and implementation of scalable, high-availability distributed systems using technologies such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, Druid, and Opensearch.
- Deliver reliable microservices and highly distributed solutions while ensuring overall system stability and security.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize security to maintain high availability for critical cloud systems.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and other engineering leaders to translate technical goals into measurable business outcomes.

Required Qualifications
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies with experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within your domain.
- Over 10 years of engineering leadership experience, including at least 3 years managing global teams across the full software development lifecycle.
- Deep expertise in distributed software architectures, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and system monitoring tools.
- Proven ability to lead teams in delivering complex, highly distributed systems.
- Strong partnership skills with product management to convert technical vision into impactful execution.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
