The Orchid School, located at the KN Gohar Chapter in Gohar Green Society near Malir 15, Karachi, is seeking a qualified and experienced Secondary Level English Teacher to join its academic team. The school follows the Cambridge Education System and is looking for a candidate who demonstrates strong command over the English language and possesses the ability to deliver engaging lessons. The ideal teacher will focus on enhancing students’ language proficiency, critical thinking, and communication skills while fostering a positive and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored for secondary-level students.
- Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and literature in accordance with the assigned curriculum.
- Develop students’ written and verbal communication skills to enhance their overall language abilities.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and assessment materials.
- Evaluate students’ academic progress through classwork, homework, quizzes, and examinations.
- Provide constructive feedback and offer additional academic support when necessary.
- Prepare students for examinations, focusing on improving their writing and analytical skills.
- Maintain classroom discipline and encourage active participation from all students.
- Keep accurate records of students’ academic performance and progress.
- Communicate students’ progress and any concerns to parents and school management as required.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve teaching practices and learning outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Previous teaching experience at the secondary level is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong skills in lesson planning, assessment, and classroom management.
- Ability to engage students effectively and explain complex concepts clearly.
- A genuine passion for teaching and supporting students’ academic growth.
