Enterprise Service Layer (ESL) Developer

We are seeking a skilled Enterprise Service Layer (ESL) Developer with over five years of software development experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining APIs and integration services that connect digital applications with enterprise backend systems. This role requires strong expertise in REST APIs, microservices, backend development, and enterprise system integration. The position offers flexibility with onsite, offshore, or hybrid work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Enterprise Service Layer services and APIs.
- Build REST APIs and microservices to facilitate integration between applications and backend systems.
- Develop and maintain integration services using appropriate API and messaging approaches.
- Manage API validation, transformation, error handling, and logging processes.
- Troubleshoot issues related to APIs, integrations, and production environments.
- Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to API and development standards.
- Collaborate effectively with Architects, Commerce Developers, Front-End and Backend Developers, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of overall software development experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in API development, microservices, middleware, backend development, or enterprise integration.
- Proven ability to integrate applications with enterprise or backend systems.
- Strong experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
- Proficiency in at least one backend technology such as Java with Spring Boot, .NET, or Node.js.
- Solid understanding of JSON, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, and web services.
- Familiarity with API integration patterns and best practices.
- Experience with API authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Working knowledge of Git version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
- Experience with API Gateway or API Management platforms.
- Knowledge of messaging or event-driven integration architectures.
- Exposure to Commerce or eCommerce platform integrations.
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
