ESS Technical Solutions Manager - Germany

We are seeking an experienced ESS Technical Solutions Manager to join our team supporting sales efforts in Germany. This remote, work-from-home position involves collaborating closely with sales representatives and R&D teams to transform customer requirements into comprehensive energy storage solutions for utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) projects. The role blends technical pre-sales expertise, solution design, and commercial analysis to deliver tailored offerings that meet market demands. Employment will be through a third-party Employer of Record (EOR), not directly with the company.

Key Responsibilities
- Accompany sales representatives on client visits to analyze customer needs, provide expert advisory input, and draft detailed project proposals.
- Collaborate with R&D and sales teams to conduct market research and competitor analysis focused on the German energy storage market.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of energy storage product performance, features, and applications to design end-to-end solutions aligned with customer and sales requirements.
- Manage project quotations and conduct profitability analyses to support commercial decision-making.
- Perform on-site surveys for prospective projects across Germany to assess feasibility and gather technical data.
- Identify challenges within key industries, design integrated solutions tailored to these pain points, and engage directly with customers to influence demand.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Battery Technology, Electrochemistry, Power Electronics, Power Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong knowledge of energy storage battery systems, electrical systems, and Battery Management Systems (BMS).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in pre-sales technical support or solution design within energy storage systems, particularly utility-scale or C&I storage projects.
- Fluency in English as the working language; shortlisted candidates will undergo language proficiency testing.
- Residency in Germany with the legal right to work in the country.
