We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Executive, Equipment Control to join the Operations team at Ocean Network Express (ONE). This role offers an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in managing container equipment, enhancing asset utilization, collaborating closely with terminals and depots, and transforming operational data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will play a hands-on role in ensuring smooth equipment flow and supporting operational excellence within a global container shipping environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage equipment reconciliation with terminals and off-dock yards to maintain accurate container inventory and system records.
- Monitor empty container stock and utilization, identify long-stay and idle equipment, and support initiatives to improve equipment turnaround and positioning.
- Maintain precise container movement and equipment status records within the OPUS system.
- Coordinate with terminals, depots, and internal stakeholders regarding equipment movements, inventory discrepancies, and operational exceptions.
- Support container maintenance and repair activities, including verification of depot repair documentation and invoices.
- Analyze operational data by extracting, reconciling, and visualizing information for regular reporting and management decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for operational and cost optimization through data analysis and effective equipment control.
- Assist with Equipment Control workflows and other day-to-day or ad-hoc operational activities as required.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in maritime transportation, shipping, logistics, supply chain, or equipment operations.
- Familiarity with container equipment, depot operations, terminal processes, and empty-container management.
- Knowledge of IICL standards, cargo-worthy inspection, and container repair estimation; IICL certification is an advantage.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and keen attention to detail.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet operational deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and data analysis) and Google Workspace applications.
