The NPD Executive will play a crucial role in supporting the New Product Development (NPD) team by coordinating R&D trial batches, evaluating active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and conducting packaging tests. This position involves facilitating pilot-scale and commercial scale-up trials while ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). The role also requires reviewing technical documentation, collaborating closely with procurement teams to source necessary materials, and calculating preliminary Bills of Materials (BOM) to achieve targeted profit margins.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage R&D trial batches, ensuring timely execution and accurate documentation.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of APIs and oversee packaging tests to meet quality and regulatory standards.
- Facilitate pilot-scale and commercial scale-up trials, maintaining strict adherence to cGMP guidelines.
- Review and verify technical records and batch documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with the procurement department to source APIs, excipients, and packaging materials efficiently.
- Calculate preliminary Bills of Materials (BOM) to support margin targets and cost optimization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience in coordinating R&D activities within a pharmaceutical or related manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cGMP standards and regulatory compliance in pharmaceutical production.
- Familiarity with pilot-scale and commercial scale-up processes.
- Ability to review technical records and documentation with attention to detail.
- Proficient in collaborating with cross-functional teams, especially procurement and production.
- Strong analytical skills to calculate BOM and support margin objectives.
