· Carry out strategic planning and development, e.g. commissioning or producing tourism strategies its economic impact for implementation, devising and implementing marketing campaigns, ensuring their short-term and long-term objectives n line with Company vision & mission.
· Get the tour programs prepared and develop in relationships with national, international and regional tourism authorities and operators.
· Plan and assign the organization of special and seasonal events, festivals and media information to promote tourism.
· Devise and plan tours, and arrange itineraries.
· Liaise through team /staff with travel partners, including airlines and hotels, to manage bookings and schedules, often a year in advance and to address the seasonality patterns and explore new opportunities to drive business.
· Monitor profitability & growth and achieve financial objectives in line with Business Unit’ (BUs) financial budget with approval of Company Management and apprise the Company Board accordingly.
· Prudently manages BU’s resources within the budget guidelines and according to policies and procedures.
· Devise alternative and innovative ideas for achieving business goals in line with Company HO.
· Provide guidance, advice and training to the staff on tourism related activities.
· Responsible for supervision and monitoring of the performance of the staff.
· Liaison with relevant authorities including Company HO, ED(A&F) Sectt, GHQ, Civil Authorities and Federal Development Investment (FDI) policies for tourism, hotels or tourism related projects treated under Ministry of Industries & Production.
