As a senior member of EY’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team within EY GDS FAAS (Control and Compliance), you will play a pivotal role in advisory engagements centered around accounting changes, regulatory compliance, and internal controls. This position is tailored for professionals with strong expertise in SOX and Internal Financial Controls (IFC), responsible for managing large-scale projects involving SOX implementation, control testing, and compliance activities aimed at improving financial reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute SOX and IFC design, walkthroughs, and implementation activities to ensure compliance and control effectiveness.
- Conduct detailed business process reviews, develop flowcharts, and prepare Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs).
- Perform risk assessments to identify critical accounts and transactions requiring control focus.
- Prepare comprehensive SOX documentation including narratives, flowcharts, and Risk and Control Matrices (RACMs).
- Test the design and operating effectiveness of controls, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
- Lead various SOX compliance phases such as walkthroughs, testing, and reporting to stakeholders.
- Support audit planning, execution, and reporting processes to ensure smooth delivery.
- Clearly communicate control deficiencies and oversee remediation efforts to closure.
- Manage decision-making processes, optimize workflows, and allocate resources efficiently.
- Supervise and mentor team members, providing guidance and ensuring they have the necessary tools for success.
- Drive business development by understanding client challenges and crafting tailored solutions.
- Lead proposal development and collaborate with market teams to support business growth initiatives.
- Coordinate cross-service line collaboration to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Lead internal capability-building initiatives and conduct training sessions to enhance team skills.
- Manage operational initiatives within the practice to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

- Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), ACCA, or MBA with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Between 2 to 7 years of hands-on experience in SOX and IFC implementation.
- Proficiency in developing RACMs, conducting control testing, and managing remediation processes.
- Strong understanding of the COSO framework and PCAOB requirements.
- Familiarity with financial statements prepared under Indian GAAP and US GAAP.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, and other MS Office applications.
- Experience working with international clients is preferred.
- Prior experience with multinational consulting firms or Big Four organizations is an advantage.
