Fabrication Superintendent/Head – Mechanical & Structural

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Supervisor to lead and manage the fabrication of pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, piping spools, equipment skids, and steel structures. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on expertise in all aspects of mechanical fabrication, including plate marking, cutting, rolling, bending, fit-up, alignment, welding, and assembly. This role requires strong leadership skills to supervise fabrication teams and ensure timely, high-quality project delivery in an industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise the fabrication process of pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, piping spools, equipment skids, and steel structures.
- Apply hands-on skills in plate marking, cutting, rolling, bending, fit-up, alignment, welding, and mechanical assembly.
- Interpret and work from fabrication drawings, general arrangement drawings, piping isometrics, and structural drawings.
- Plan and execute all fabrication activities, from raw material preparation through to final assembly.
- Oversee fabrication foremen, welders, fitters, fabricators, and other workshop personnel, ensuring efficient team coordination.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical fabrication challenges related to dimensional accuracy, fit-up, alignment, and assembly.
- Manage fabrication machinery and equipment, including welding machines, cutting tools, plate rolling machines, and workshop tools.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and daily fabrication targets to meet project deadlines.
- Implement strategies to minimize material wastage, reduce rework, and prevent fabrication delays through effective planning and technical problem-solving.

Required Qualifications

- 15 to 20 years of hands-on fabrication experience within oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, or EPC projects.
- Strong practical knowledge of heavy mechanical fabrication, including pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping, and structural steel.
- Ability to independently interpret fabrication drawings and provide clear guidance to fabrication teams.
- Comprehensive understanding of fabrication sequences, plate development, welding preparation, fit-up techniques, and assembly methods.
- Proven track record of supervising multiple fabrication teams and consistently achieving production targets.
- Relevant technical qualification such as DAE Mechanical, B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.

Compensation and Work Location

The position offers a monthly salary ranging from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 200,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role requires on-site presence at the designated work location.
