Fashion Designer - Leather Garments

We are seeking a talented Fashion Designer to lead the creation of new product launches within our garment and leather collections. This role involves transforming current trends and brand directions into innovative designs, detailed tech packs, and production-ready samples. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Pattern Master and sample makers, overseeing the process from initial concept through to the approved sample stage.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct thorough research on fashion trends, competitor product launches, and customer feedback to generate fresh product ideas.
- Develop design concepts, sketches, and mood boards for both new collections and individual product launches.
- Prepare comprehensive tech packs that include measurements, materials, trims, colors, and construction details to ensure clarity for production teams.
- Select appropriate leather, fabrics, linings, and trims that align with design intent, quality standards, and cost targets.
- Provide detailed briefs to the Pattern Master and sample team, monitoring each sample’s development closely.
- Review samples meticulously for appearance, fit, and finish, offering clear and actionable correction notes.
- Maintain organized records of all designs, revisions, and approved samples for future reference.
- Coordinate effectively with creative, product, and sourcing teams to meet launch timelines and ensure smooth product delivery.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience designing woven and leather garments is essential.
- Strong sketching abilities, both hand-drawn and digital, with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar design software.
- Solid understanding of garment construction, materials, and fit principles.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise clearly with production and sampling teams.
