Agriculture Officer

The ideal candidate holds an MSc in Agriculture and possesses comprehensive knowledge of rice crop management and cultivation. This role focuses on conducting detailed field inspections and crop monitoring to ensure optimal productivity and adherence to best agricultural standards. The Agriculture Officer will analyze agricultural data and generate reports that guide operational decisions and foster continuous improvement in crop yields. This position is suitable for individuals with at least two years of experience in the agriculture sector, although fresh graduates with relevant qualifications and computer skills are encouraged to apply. The Agriculture Officer does not manage a team but works collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to implement effective agricultural strategies. Proficiency in computer applications related to agriculture and data analysis is essential for the role, enabling accurate documentation and efficient communication of findings. Responsibilities

Implement and oversee crop production techniques, with a focus on rice cultivation, to achieve high yield and quality standards.
Conduct regular field inspections to monitor crop health, growth stages, pest infestations, and disease occurrences.
Collect, analyze, and interpret agricultural data to generate comprehensive reports that support decision-making processes.
Provide expert advice on best practices for rice crop management, including soil preparation, planting, fertilization, irrigation, and harvesting.
Coordinate with agronomists, suppliers, and farm workers to ensure successful implementation of agricultural plans.
Identify and recommend measures to mitigate risks related to pests, diseases, and adverse climatic conditions.
Maintain up-to-date records of crop performance and field activities using computer software and data management tools.
Monitor compliance with safety and environmental regulations applicable to agricultural operations.
Assist in the development and implementation of sustainable agricultural practices to optimize resource utilization and reduce environmental impact.
Support training initiatives for farm personnel on latest agricultural techniques and technologies.
