F&B Captain

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to manage and operate Food & Beverage (F&B) outlets efficiently. The role involves overseeing daily service operations, ensuring high standards of quality, guest satisfaction, and maintaining a safe and hygienic environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating staff schedules, controlling costs, managing inventory, and upholding standard operating procedures (SOPs) to deliver exceptional service. This position requires strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and a thorough understanding of menu offerings and presentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and ensure smooth operation of F&B service outlets.
- Organize duty rosters and manage service staff effectively.
- Implement cost control measures and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Train team members and maintain SOPs to guarantee quality service.
- Promote guest satisfaction by creating a welcoming atmosphere and addressing feedback.
- Build rapport with guests to foster loyalty and enhance their overall experience.
- Encourage and empower team members through positive relations and proper training.
- Greet guests promptly with warmth and professionalism.
- Ensure timely service delivery to guests.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of menu items and presentation standards.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and staff, including telephone etiquette.
- Assist guests with menu selections and answer related inquiries.
- Record transactions and orders accurately using Point of Sales (POS) systems.
- Liaise with kitchen staff regarding menu questions, wait times, and product availability.
- Communicate special meal requirements, allergies, and dietary needs to the kitchen.
- Follow up with guests to confirm satisfaction with food and beverages.
- Clear, collect, and return food and beverage items to designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and dining areas throughout shifts.
- Review order dockets to ensure accuracy and timely preparation.
- Present accurate final bills and process payments efficiently.
- Perform shift closing procedures on POS terminals, including cash and credit card reconciliation.
- Ensure the restaurant remains clean and organized in both front and back of house areas.
- Consistently implement hotel brand standards and SOPs.
- Collaborate with team members and management to maximize outlet performance.
- Complete daily shift responsibilities and closing duties such as restocking and securing premises.
- Conduct monthly inventory checks on equipment and supplies.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in catering or F&B operations.
- At least 1 year of experience in hospitality or customer service.
- Familiarity with bartending is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage teams and work collaboratively.
- Proficiency in using POS systems and handling cash transactions.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and SOP compliance.
